از قفل مگنت (مغناطیسی) به منظور الکترونیکی کردن درب های شیشه ای، فلزی و چوبی و اصولا درب های بدون دستگیره مورد استفاده قرار می گیرد. در بازار قفل مگنت به اسم قفل الکترو مغناطیسی هم موجود می باشد. اساس کار قفل مگنت، جاذبه مغناطیسی حاصل از عبور جریان الکتریکی و خاصیت مغناطیسی آهن ربای قفل بین دو قسمت آن است. با استفاده از قفل های مگنت دیگر نیازی به دستگیره نیست به طور کلی فراین باز و بسته شدن از طریق قفل الکتریکی انجام می شود..
قفل برقی مگنت دارای بدنه مستحکم آلومینیوم و فولاد می باشد. همچنین قابلیت این را دارد که زیر نظر مدیریت از طریق ریموت، کارت، کد، اثرانگشت، پیامک و کلیدهای الکترونیکی نیز کار کند.  
این قفل الکتریکی از طریق ولتاژ 12 ولت کار می کند و با توجه به جنس و ساختار قطعات آن دارای طول عمر بالایی می باشد.
با توجه به دمای کاری این قفل که دمای بالای 60 درجه سانتی گراد را تحمل می کند و برای کاربرد های محیطی 40- سانتی گراد مناسب است. از این قفل می توان در مکان های مختلف و به عنوان قفل صندوق امانات در انبارها و مکان های مختلف استفاده کرد.

A magnetic door lock is a lock that uses an electric current to produce the magnetic force. Due to the increased strength because of the current, the doors can withstand pressure, so they can’t be forced open without the use of the confirmed access method.
The principle behind an electromagnetic lock is the use of electromagnetism to lock a door when energized. The holding force should be collinear with the load, and the lock and armature plate should be face-to-face to achieve optimal operation.
The magnetic lock is suitable for both in-swinging and out-swinging doors. Brackets (L bracket, LZ bracket, U bracket) are used to orient the armature for use with both applications. Filler plates are also used to provide a large, flat mounting area on the door frame when the electromagnet is larger than the available mounting space on the door frame due to the frame's geometry.
The magnetic lock should always be installed on the secure side of the door. Most installations are surface mounted. For safety, magnetic lock, cables, and wires should be routed through the door frame or flush mount with wire molding.
Magnetic locks possess a number of advantages over conventional locks and electric strikes. For example, their durability and quick operation can make them valuable in a high-traffic office environment where electronic authentication is necessary.
Magnetic locks can be turned on and off remotely by adjusting the power source.
They are generally easier to install than other locks since there are no interconnecting parts.
The magnetic locks may also suffer less damage from multiple blows than do conventional locks. If a magnetic lock is forced open with a crowbar, it will often do little or no damage to the door or lock. There are no moving parts in an electromagnetic lock to break.
